Thank you kindly for taking the time to visit, and I hope you enjoy reading my responses to these thought-provoking questions.
Which type of character do you prefer writing about: Sexy, romantic, sweet, quirky, mean, old, young, smart, silly, or other?
All. No? Alright then, I’ll go with other. I worry lots about not coming off as humorous and yet I can’t help making the main male character possess at least some sense of humor, and likely because this is something sorely lacking in my own relationships. Quirky usually ends up being a trait of most of my female leads. Awkward-ish, I think. Even if they’re drop-dead gorgeous, it is merely a façade and they don’t always live up to the auto-expectations of first-glance assumptions.
Have you ever killed off (or gotten back at) an ex in your writing? On paper,of course.
LOL’ing here. I just did this, as a matter of fact. Got back at, didn’t kill my ex in my completed WIP (have the cover AND a title now!). I even gave the character his first name 😉
A reformed meth addict and ex-con who appears before the leading lady covered in dirt and grease in his mechanic’s uniform. I make him get down on his hands and knees, too, and beg her to forgive him.
Uh . . . she doesn’t.
What hobbies do you have that you incorporate in your writing?
Great question, and as I continue to read all your wonderful published works, I am beginning to realize how untalented I am in that regard. I had a good half-dozen hobbies in my younger days. I even used to work those Craft Fair circuits trying to hock my crochet, decorated and glazed clay pots, and jewelry.
Ah! Okay, yes, I do have one of my characters selling her jewelry online. And, since I love to cook, most of my stories revolve around food or someone who is great at preparing it. My completed WIP is all about the music industry; another love of mine but not something I am heavily involved in and so kept the info to bare minimum. I’ve been inside a grand total of two recording studios, so I’m no expert.
For me, I have to research whatever topic interests me. I adore astronomy, love taking pictures, and traveling. While married, I was an obsessive-compulsive gardener and even ended up falling back on sewing for something to do.
I’ve done a lot, but never mastered anything to be able to brag, much less utilize my skills or knowledge in a story without the use of books and expert info to make myself sound as intelligent as I hope.
If I could write a novel based on a few middle-age women who sit around a coffee shop or wander around a mall bitching and poking quiet fun at everything they see, then yeah, I’d incorporate that expert knowledge into my work 😉

I appreciate your having taken the time to read my responses, and now let’s hop on over to the next romance author’s blog and read what Brenda Margriet has to say.
You can find information about Brenda’s latest novel, Chef d’Amour here.
I live inside recording studios. Seriously. Audio is my day job, Any questions? Just ask! Fun post. 🙂

You go girl! I had to be sneaky about the name of my character I got even with. A few people know who the person is. Wish I could have been as bold as you.

I’m writing under a pseudonym, but the more I think about it, the more I’m inclined to change that name after all 😉

Love that you incorporate singing and cooking in your stories. I enjoy stargazing but wouldn’t go so far as to call it a love of astronomy. Neat post!
