About

I’ve been a ‘writer’ most of my life and hope to become an ‘author’ some day. I just want to write, and I will never stop wanting to learn how to write properly.

I’ve designated 2014 as my year to get noticed, and I’m here to work my way through the process of that success mission. I’ve got the novel written and am in the editing, re-write stages now.

– UPDATE: self-published May 13, 2014, a day that will live in infamy for me: goal accomplished –

Which means now I must move ahead and start another writing endeavor for another chance at getting noticed in the world of Publishing, Authorship, etc.

Currently working on latest Romance novel. The fourth in a series of four. It’s fantasy stuff.

Writing weaknesses include plot holes and not understanding or recognizing them until its too late. Resonating with the reader or an unwillingness to change my style in order to accommodate their wants.

– The Silly Stuff –

The Devil Capricorn: (my sun sign, apparently). The Devil Capricorn holds the key to our psyches. He invites us in and shows us who we really are.

Being Capricorn Means I’m supposed to be: Practical and prudent, Ambitious and disciplined, Patient and careful, Humorous and reserved, Pessimistic and fatalistic, Miserly and grudging. And I suppose I’d have to agree on all but the fatalistic and grudging remarks. That isn’t me in the slightest.

Elsewhere In Astrology-land: Erogenous Zone: The knees (nope). Most Like-able Trait: Steadiness (I like, or others do?). Element: Earth (practical and stable)(have to concur). Ruling Planet: Saturn (planet of discipline and limitation) the key word being limitation, I think. Keyword: I USE – which just contradicted me, and I still need to think about I USE.

Hobbies: amateur photography, wanderer in mind, day-tripper in spirit, music connoisseur, and most importantly, lover of the written word both as a reader and a writer.

Philosophy: Moving Right Along . . .
Outlook: Patchy Clouds with Intermittent Sunshine.
Things I Still Like to do But Can’t Anymore: cook, decorate, garden, travel, bar hop, play tennis, date, shop for clothing/accessories, lounge in the sun on a beach in a bikini.

I hope you find the success you are looking for. 😉

You also mentioned Groove Salad in one of your posts so that was instantly intriguing to me. I’m also a relatively recent Writing/Lit and Philosophy grad (undergraduate; I’m actively processing the concept of heading into a MFA in writing…) and I’ve finally decided (I hope) to get really serious about my craft.

Looking forward to what you have to say here!

Thank you so much, Jules 🙂
I hope some of my ‘rants’ don’t offend or give you a wrong impression. I created this blog because it was suggested I do so … and like everything else, it’s half and half what it should be – like my writing! 😦
I appreciate your interest and comments and look forward to reading more from you as well.

    Suggestions for your blog:
    1) Tagging: It will be good to use tags+categories upto 15 else it will not appear in search/readers section. Visitors follow tags in searches and then may discover the blog. Also, Keep tag to be one word or two words. You may edit the posts and add more tags, update tags if required for existing posts. Else follow this for future posts.

    2) Go to Settings>Sharing, and select the checkbox – Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results
Now if someone visits your blog, he/she may like the post without opening the post separately. It will help you get more likes on the blog.

  4. You just reminded me… I’m sure you’ve done a tonne of research already, but I stumbled across this guy a few weeks ago. This http://www.deanwesleysmith.com/?p=12014 is part of his Killing the Sacred Cows of Publishing series. He might have some tips that will help you get your book out there. If you go to the main page of Killing the Sacred Cows of Publishing, you’ll see other myths that he’s debunked regarding publishing (both Indie and traditional) and some of those might be of help too.
